Parenting classes

I am attaching the flier in both English and Spanish for our newest parent education class offering.  This class will begin Oct 2, 2012, 6:30-8:30 pm and will meet for 3 consecutive Tuesdays.  Preregistration is encouraged but not required.  Please feel free to print/copy the flier as necessary. Naturally Caring-TLC for Care Givers Workshop #6 "Understanding and Coping with Dementia"

On Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 3-5 p.m. Further Shore, Inc. is proud to offer Naturally Caring-TLC for Care Givers Workshop #6 "Understanding and Coping with Dementia". Presented by Aleia O’Reilly, LMT-AM and Meg Leander, Counselor. This FREE workshop will be held at the Joe Montoya Senior and Community Center in the arts and crafts room, located at 245 N. Thorpe Road next to Thorpe Park. The 2 hour workshop is designed for professional and family care givers. In this interactive workshop you will learn about behavior and memory loss cues associated with early onset dementia. Deepen your understanding and empathy for persons with dementia, while taking care of your own emotional needs. Preregistration appreciated, but not required by contacting Further Shore. University of AZ VISTA Opportunity with Coconino Extension Office


We have an opening for a U of AZ VISTA to serve at the Coconino Extension office. Upon completion of service the VISTA volunteer is awarded two years free tuition at the university of Arizona, any college and the award can be applied to graduate or post-doctoral work. Looking for a VISTA volunteer member to work with two program areas of Coconino Extension programming, the formerly named Kinship Kare of Northern Arizona (KKONA) now Raising Up GRANDchildren and the Master Gardener programs.Both programs offer opportunities for capacity building efforts including :organizing and evaluating workshops, supporting trainings, planning outreach efforts, providing logistical support and expanding technical outreach including Facebook and other social media efforts.
