POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director and Manager of Fit Kids, assists in the marketing, community outreach and Public Relations program/activities/events, may be asked to assist with grant writing tasks/projects, and publication of data or stories as it relates to the Fit Kids programs at Flagstaff Medical Center and Verde Valley Medical Center and surrounding service areas. Assignments include but are not limited to: planning of events/conferences/meetings, health fair participation and promotion, screenings, community lectures, public relations events; marketing and promotion of services to referring physicians and outlying communities, grant writing assistance, data collection and tracking, publications and event/program assistance. Assists the other members of the Fit Kids department in the development of marketing material, advertisements and promotional items. Manages multiple projects/events, multiple daily tasks, deadlines and schedules. Establishes and maintains excellent communications and relations with local and rural referring physicians and their office staff, IHS facilities and other agencies that interact with system hospitals.
In addition the liaison will also be responsible for the collaboration and organization of the School Health and Wellness initiative in Northern Arizona schools. The individual will engage students, families and staff to participate in the numerous health opportunities while building relationships in order to ensure program success and two-way communication. Assignments/Responsibilities include but are not limited to: recruit school staff to be health leaders at each school on an annual basis, assist with bi-annual student data collection, present to community members, school boards, principals, staff, etc., work with schools in district to improve wellness policies, ensure program compliance, and provide direction and ideas for future health efforts within project, coordinates with manager and director of Fit Kids to ensure proper budget adherence by the schools and allocation recommendations for future programming, conduct trainings with new health leaders at each school, compose written research, grant efforts for supplemental programming, press releases, articles and any other tasks assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
-Bachelor's Degree - required.
-Bilingual (Spanish) - preferred.
Experience:
-One (1) year of marketing or office environment experience - required.
-Previous experience working directly with physicians or medical community - preferred.
-Previous experience in communications, public relations, or social media related position and/or job responsibilities - preferred.
-Experience in Health, Education, or Community Organizing fields helpful.
Certificate/Licensure:
-Current AZ Driver's License with no moving violations for 39 months - required.
-Current vehicle registration and insurance - required.
-Fingerprint Clearance Card - required.
