Tonier Coin-Nationally Recognized Speaker Comes to Flagstaff-October 4th

Tonier Cain – Nationally Recognized Speaker Comes to Flagstaff – October 14th

Tonier Cain is a nationally recognized SAMHSA speaker and advocate for recovery and trauma-informed care.  In March 2010, her story was launched in the form of a documentary titled, “Healing Neen” which details her transcendent story of emergence from drug addiction, multiple incarcerations and two decades of homelessness to become a tireless advocate and educator on the devastating impact of childhood abuse.  Her story illustrates the great need to rethink how we treat the shattered adults severely traumatized children become.  For more information and to see the video trailer please go here: http://healingneen.com/
In honor of Recovery Month (September) and Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October) NARBHA and FMC have partnered to bring Tonier Cain to Flagstaff for two 90-minute speaking events on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.   Tonier Cain will speak twice, first at FMC’s McGee Auditorium from 8:30-10:00am.  This morning event will be primarily for FMC staff and professionals seeking CEUs.  Tonier’s second 90-minute event will be from 5:30-7pm at NAU’s Dubois Center Ballroom and is open to the public. RSVP is required as seating is limited.
This event is sure to be transformative, inspiring, and educational about the importance of trauma-informed care and the indomitable nature of the human spirit.  I have no doubt that many lives will be touched and changed on October 14th.
